You've done a great job Isaac...well done. When you're cashed up next grab some white track grips or bar tape, it'll balance everything out nicely.

Just looking at the black rims and thinking a black chainring would have really finished this off. Maybe also level out your drops a little more so the horizontal section is parallel with your top tube.

The picture displayed a Black Chainring on eBay but sadly a Gun Metal Grey one came instead. The bike was setup by Pony Bikes so I'll probably move things about a bit to suit my position.

Being an old fart, I gotta say this...

DON'T RIDE NUDE BARS!
Even if you don't put tape or grips on, please plug the ends. At best you could end up taking core samples from your thighs. At worst, disembowlment. I've seen my aunties scars. :(

I'm running old pedals, not sure what they are but they were on the old bike, though they actually look quite reasonable. I'll grip the bars up soon, I learnt that once you ride for a bit you get sweaty hands and start to slip off. Thanks for the comments and help with locking/unlocking the thread MB.

Nice work,
Now grab some old corks from a wine bottle and jam them in never ever ride unplugged bars.
The number one cause of pancreatitis is handle bars i've had it you don't want it.

About time! Not a bad build there young fella. +1 on tape and plugs, getting a core sample taken out of any part of your body by those bars is a most unpleasant experience. Not a fan of coloured chains & hopefully next time you can try and do some of the assembly work yourself.

Bike looks awesome.

On the bars, I concur they at least need plugging. I like the look of the half-wound track style grips (have a look at the last shot of the ghetto fixie in the gallery). Practical and stylish. If you buy cheap "cork" tape, you only need to use half of it and save the other half for the next bike.

Yeah, thanks. I took a tumble today. I got my wheel stuck in Tram Tracks and went over my bars. When I picked up the bike straight after I got up I found that the front wheel had been slightly bent and the brakes now stuck to the rim. The bars were also scratched, their was a chip in the paintwork. Im taking it down to Sasha today to get it repaired. It was embarrassing because I was crossing the road where nearly everyone from my school goes to catch the Tram. DAM!!! Wheeled my bike halfway home and then I found a friend that also has a fixie, he flicked something on the Brakes and I rode it home brakeless.

Bummer. You're now christened.

If you could ride it with the brake QR opened, the buckle might not be too bad. Hopefully its nothing a judicious bit of spoke nipple work cant fix.

shite! I did that once on swanston st, except i didn't fall off.. just smashed into back of a van and put my head through the back window. It's the best way to learn
