Freeway Tollgate crossing

Has anyone got any ideas how to improve our safety crossing at the Toll gate?
Surely the odds of crossing safely are against us.

It is pretty dangerous, especially considering alot of drivers floor it to 100+ from the lights on Portrush.

Maybe a bridge to the other side, but I doubt any council/government would want to committ to it.

Extending the cycle path all the way down to portrush rd, so we can cross at the lights.....

Both ideas sound great. I find even if I head for the lights the path that is after the side street dangerous to get too. Being on the wrong side of the road the odd car coming out of the side street and turning sharply uphill.
Is it just me that path at the end , is very slippery in winter covers over in moss.A pedestrian crossing over the freeway might slow the cars down so we could cross over the freeway a bit more safely.

Personally have never had an issue with crossing, and have never had to wait too long.

A bridge crossing would be great, but who is going to fund that ? You are looking at $1M + easily. Extending the lane to the lights is nnot doable due to existing buildings (sadly).

For me, patience works really well, but understand the concerns.

A bigger issue for me is bike lanes that end near and intersection and start 100m later when there is plenty of room to the relevant area.

How about a sign at the bottom to remind you...53/11 is not the gear for a quick road crossing!

A bridge crossing would be the ultimate solution, however I can't see the government stumping up the dough for that. The first time I tried to get across in peak hour traffic was a scary prospect. I now don't have many worries getting across but a bridge would be a great and safest solution. I've gone down the path on the uptrack side a couple of times in the wet and found it super dangerous so I'd rather take my chances crossing traffic !!!!
