Qld weather venting postsRe: Qld weather venting postsForecast for Monday is 34 with storms
Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: Qld weather venting postsI got a dry 30k in this morning, can't say the same about the 60k yesterday.
I didn't know what to do with myself after the ride this morning as I didn't have to wash the road grime off or lubricate the chain. Unless you are at the front of the pack the view's the same.
Re: Qld weather venting postsMan I did a couple of laps of the Cootha this morning.. it was hot.
Came home, mowed and I am a ball of sweat! It's 33.2 now but the apparent temp is nearly 38! Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: Qld weather venting postsThe heat.... oh my god, the heat. I've been sitting on the deck pouring water over my head to get some relief. BOM claims it'll be a touch cooler tomorrow and cooling down the rest of the week. I hope the weatherman is right for once!

Re: Qld weather venting postsyes the weather is horrendous, I'm trying to work out why I decided to have a roast dinner last night and am cooking lasagne and home made bread today. the heat must be affecting my judgement.
did ride Gap Creek this morning and despite consuming about 5 litres of fluids I still think I have lost weight. Life is not about waiting for the rain to pass.....it's about learning to dance (or ride) in the rain.

Re: Qld weather venting posts
At 5am on Cootha it was sort of cool..... but when I got home at 8am it was revolting. And then got worse. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Qld weather venting posts
Good idea getting there early. My group met at 6:30 at JC Slaughter and started then. I think I got home just before 9 and she was getting pretty warm. 3 water bottles on the ride plus about a litre when I got home. Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.

Re: Qld weather venting postsTues 22, what a contrast to Monday. I was hopeful of closing the new triangle this week but its back out on the horizon.

Re: Qld weather venting postsAt 4:30am the weather radar was clear so we rolled out at 5am, was a bit of drizzle and then the cold rain.
It was almost like an English summer day! Clean bike is clean no more, and the wet weather gear had stayed home.... Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Qld weather venting postsGlad I didn't go out...got up at 4.45 checked the radar and went back to bed...getting further behind that red arrow now

I never take them off the bike. Summer they are set to flashing, Winter (last week) set to constant at least for the start. But that's usually 4:40am for me. Never seen a Christmas tree hit by a car: light up everyone. Ha ha! Cookies on dowels.
Re: Qld weather venting postsmore bad weather on the way apparently, rain and lots of it for tomorrow according to weather forecast.

Re: Qld weather venting postsenjoying the rain on the ride, so much nicer than the humidity. mudguards make riding in the rain so much more pleasant.

Yaay well done. I saw a dude riding in with no shirt on today and thought that was a good idea in this rain. Took me 1:10 on the bus - 40 minutes longer than the ride Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.

Re: Qld weather venting postsI rode to work this morning. Mudguards and fat tires made it a breeze. I wore a rain jacket and fast drying shorts.
