BUT just checked the RTA now and there's still debris on the F3 near the Mount White weighing station.
I might create an RTA live traffic thread just to remind myself what I'm missing out on.
http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/
Can this thread be renamed to the RTA live traffic? NSW folder?

Have renamed and there is bicycle-related content on the RTA Traffic site so to NSW this goes.

I was just being lazy And I didn't want to create yet another thread when there is probably something similarly named in the depths of the forum. But happy for you to be so obliging....Boognoss wrote:Sure, it wasn't exactly weather-related originally.

I use the RTA Live Traffic site fairly often if I'm driving (rarely need to before a ride unless it involves a traffic ferry) and it's pretty good. Not overly useful but a cool feature is to read what the overhead electronics signs are displaying.

I pass the F3 twice a day on the over head bridge along Kujring-Gai Chase Rd and it is always bumper to bumper traffic EVERY morning. Bumper to bumper as far as my eyes can see. That is normal.CommuRider wrote:Another reason why I love being on the bike.

Oooh 19 incidents today I always watch out when there's an incident on City West as that WAS my normal driving route.
Integrated camera view here:

I feel so Zen-ish on the bike. Ommmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Edit: Actually F3 at Mount White looks ok now from the camera.

I use it all the time before rides to decide which direction I'm headed.Boognoss wrote:I use the RTA Live Traffic site fairly often if I'm driving (rarely need to before a ride unless it involves a traffic ferry) and it's pretty good. 1 - BOM doppler radar.
2 - RTA Traffic cam to check the road condition of my destination (wet or dry etc).

I wonder....if they display what the signs are saying, it can only be a matter of time until someone figures out how to change them online as wellBoognoss wrote:It's largely about the mod power!

I am actually working on a computer program at the moment to change data on of these road side signs. You can either SMS the sign or use a LAN. With the first you need the SIM number, and in both cases you need the password, so they have some reasonable security.queequeg wrote:....if they display what the signs are saying, it can only be a matter of time until someone figures out how to change them online as well
(My program is for legitimate reasons, not trying to hack one!)

I got a call from my wife at about 3:20pm, and she was stuck on the M2 under Pennant Hills Rd and wondering why the traffic was at a standstill. I quickly looked up the RTA site and saw the M2 was closed at Windsor Rd due to said accident, and luckily my wife with toddler on board were close enough to the Pennant Hills Rd exit that she was able to escape. Everyone else was stuck there for a couple of hours!CommuRider wrote:Looks like the M2 is going to be a car park today.

My colleague got stuck - 20 minutes to crawl 50m (I kid you not!) so she turned around and is going to have a late night tonight.
