GIANT Boulder se, red and black frame. White forks.
Single Speed, Rigid (no suspension) mountain bike.
Stolen 15/3/11 from University of Sydney. Broad daylight. Fairly busy area in front of mech engineering. Clean cut through cable lock. Lock left behind.
Distinguishing features at time of theft:
Brand new WHITE dmr trailblade forks.
Brand new black Octane cranks.
One red and one black brake lever.
“One Less 4WD†critical mass sticker on top tube.
Custom RED leather saddle.
Frame looks well used with rim tape covering up repair job on the drive side chainstay.
This is the frame as it looked from the shop:

But now it is a very weird looking singlespeed MTB. just rebuilt.
VERY DISTINCTIVE/WEIRD BLACK/RED/WHITE colour scheme.
any sightings or info on where stolen parts/bikes are sold in inner sydney.
Cheers,
Dylan

yeah i ducking hope so!! rarrrr
UPDATE
i put posters up where the bike was nicked telling people who lock their bikes there to be careful, with my phone number at the bottom.
Today i got a message from another engineering guy saying the TWO bikes had been stolen at the same time today.. from exactly the same spot mine had. One was a GIANT VT!
If you lock your bike on campus at USyd do not assume it is safe because it is a "busy" area. Get a good u-lock or find a building where you can lock the bicycle inside!

Heres an idea, sand the frame back, remove the massive giant on the frame and paint it a plain colour, i.e black , white, great, aluminium (raw).
maybe then people will think its not a good bike and just leave it alone.
hope you find the bike dude, i dont know what i would do if my scott hybrid was stolen, although i only ride to and from work and i dont really lock it up anywhere, i would rather take it into the shopping centre with me and get told off by security then take the chance.

Get another bike, put a gps tracker on it, put it in the same location. Nail dem when you figure out where it's gone.

If someone steals your bike and then you see it being sold for second hand, and you can prove it belongs to you. Can you get it back?

Hi Dylan,
Sorry about your loss, I know what you went through as I recently (14/4/11) had my Scott road bike stolen from in front of the Sydney Uni sport and rec centre (with the swimming pool / futsul courts). Whomever clean cut through my cable lock as well, I was only on campus for an hour to play a game of futsul between 920-1005pm. I reported it to campus security, who were nice, however shared my opinion that there was not much chance of finding it.
Any news on your bike?
Mitch
