Hello,
the route for the Peninsula Link shared Path has been announced:
"A recently released report, The Peninsula Link Trail - Promoting walking and cycling along a new 25 kilometre path provides an overview of the route of the new path, summarises the planning that was undertaken and explores the key issues raised by the community.
The path will be a huge addition to the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula shared path networks offering new recreational and connectivity opportunities for residents. It begins at the Patterson River and terminates near the Mt Eliza Regional Park in Moorooduc. It will be the biggest single addition to Melbourne's shared use path network since the EastLink Trail."

I am looking forward to this path being open, especially if they also seal the last section of the Dandenong Creek Path. The picture on the front cover of rthe report looks like it is from Mullum Mullum creek, I hope they do a better job and make a safer track.
Matt

Pity the associated freeway had to trash The Pines Flora and Fauna Reservematt.black wrote:The path will be a huge addition to the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula shared path networks offering new recreational and connectivity opportunities for residents.
And, as with the Eastlink Trail, the route zig-zags all over the place, swapping side over the freeway several times, crossing at traffic lights with long delays, losing preference over cross-roads and slip lanes, doing extra loops and probably climbs lots of needless hills in the process. And will it be gravel, concrete or tarmac? 3.5 metre width or 2?
One day in the future bicycle travel will be seriously built into transport projects.... but not yet.

It goes within 500m of my factory. Will look forward to giving it a go.
I ride several bicycles, but not at once.

"The Peninsula Link Trail will be a sealed three metre wide path. The path will be mostly comprised of a concrete surface with some sections comprising an asphalt sufacing treatment."
The sooner the better.il padrone wrote: One day in the future bicycle travel will be seriously built into transport projects.... but not yet.

That will mean there will be bike lane all the way from Mordailloc to Frankston (and beyond). The Nepean Hway after the Patterson River is a bit of a drama with the unwanted interaction with cars. So I'll give it a try as soon as it's open
I just love riding my bike!

I just had a look at it and it's a bit convoluted and takes the long way around. It will probably end up with those barriers to stop the motor bikes , so it will not be much use.
I think I've turned into a grumpy old curmudgeon! I hope it works, but my faith in my fellow humans is at a very low ebb.
