Sorry,
Same day but closer and cheaper:

Crusty’s Bakery 100km Challenge – Sunday 20 March

Starts at Crusty’s Wivenhoe Bakery, to Penguin, then to Wynyard around Table Cape, return to Crusty’s, Wivenhoe

Looks like a stiff easterly for Sunday that will add to the challenge.

Done, 100Ks total time 3H 33m, with a couple of stops to wait for stragglers. 495 Metre elevation gain 29.5 av moving speed.

Crustys Bakery in wivenhoe and ulverstone deserves your support when you are on the NW Coast. They included cakes and coffee and a lucky draw prize for the $5 entry. About 40 riders turned out with most of them in Crusty Bakery cycling kit. A friendly bunch, check their website:
http://www.crustyscycling.com/

A top day out, now for the Western Tiers Chellenge next Sunday:

Cannot decide between the 100 or 160.

I waited at Cambridge for my Dome mates. You were going like a train around 7 mile Beach and up to Cambridge.

I said gday to Barry when I got there, though I'm not sure you knew who the hell I was

It started just before I did my entry so I started well back and took it easy until about Cambridge. I came across a young guy who had crashed at the intersection near that underpass as you turn right onto the old Cambridge road. He was a bit cut up but ok, the bike had a RD fatality so he was waiting on a lift. Poor bugger, was a nice bike too, zipps n all.

Rode from group to group through 7mile and then over the little hills though the back of Cambridge. Rode with 3 other blokes for most of teatree road then went on my own again coming into Richmond.
Caught up with young Adam there[who had stopped for a feed] and rode with him over grasstree. I was cramping even just spinning in my lowest gear, missjudged how much I had left obviously
Though I recovered ok once over the top. The last bit was slow along the bike track talking to an older bloke who had caught us at the top of grasstree, nice fella and I'd be happy to be going as well as him at that age.

Total time was 3:50-something, I forgot to look but the start/finish is about a 20min ride from home. I cant remember what the time was last year  I reckon it was quicker because I rode with other people all the way and sat in much more. I wonder how long it would take me solo, I might try it next weekend.

Slow police escort all the to the hill in-between Rosny and Cambridge. Nearly got taken out by a tandem going down the hill. Then i was by myself till seven mile, then got a group. The group was organised with rolling starts till malcoms Hut Rd, they it split. Then i was by myself battling the wing till Richmond where i lost alot of time in the traffic. Joined by another rider till Cornelian Bay
