Yes. I admit it. I am claiming excuse!

Every work day for more than two years, I have ridden into work and back home again. Rain, hail, storms, heat waves, injury and illness, whatever. Riding to and from work has been the one unchanging constant. (oops, tautology)

But today, for the first time since November 6, 2008 I am not riding in to work. I am moving office to Freo, I do not have any clothes there and, atm, I have no showers. So, for this morning at least, I am heading in to work in comfort. Car. Aircon. Radio.

I am taking a couple of shirts in and hoping to arrange facilities for tomorrow. And I will be riding home.

BB is stuffed. Replacement BB's at the shop appear to be from a dodgy batch...

Mrs Westab tripped over the dog while playing with the dog and children out the back on Friday and had a suspected fracture wrist. Got it checked out by a specialist today and the good news is that it wasn't fractured, just soft tissue damage, the bad new I had to take her to Auburn hospital to have it checked and didn't ride to work today (we live just west of Blacktown) 30 min drive away.

No more riding for some time - the good news of no fracture in Mrs Westab's arm has just been washed away by the Goldern Staph infection she has picked up (most likely at Blacktown hospital). :( :(

Oh well - I enjoy riding but Mrs Westab (and the rug rats) are far more important.

Far out, Westab, that's not cool. :( I hope she heals quickly.

As for me, I'm still off the bike looking after my damn dogs! Puppy-proofing the fence can't come quick enough!

Thanks for the best wishes everyone - it is much appreciated. Mrs Westab and the kids are so lovable, kind, ...... that its a real privilege to have to do more than usual for them. Small price to pay to be off the bike. :D

Still raining and working late tonight. After my encounter with the 'ghost' last week, I have decided to use the polluting beast today for the first time this year. I am unsure if ghosts avoid the rain but I do not want to push my luck.

Ooh, blerg, bosvit :( Hope you're on the mend.

Lost a whole week due to combo of i) house-sitting ii) non-cycling house guest iii) inordinate amounts of un-workaround-able ferrying about of people and large objects iv) a grody head cold v) biznatch of a schedule at work. I get my life back as of tomorrow arvo !!

Sigh, at this rate, I'll never get back on the commuter. I'm working 12+ hour days at the moment, so tacking on another 5 hours in commuting time just isn't an option. :(

Still not right :(

I was gonna, really! Had everything ready to go, test ride last night and all. Then I stepped outside this morning to grab the chipwrapper and the cold air bought on a 5" coughing fit. The GLW smokeboxed me to the train :(

Monday!

My track bike doesn't have brakes :)

Missed two days commuting because I had to go to the Australian Master Track Championships. Apart from that, a perfect track (pun intended) record this year so far

It's a ute. Ride to the ute. Then pick up the kid. Park it somewhere along the way. I can't count the number of times I have ridden to pick up the kids at the car.
