wow! the last 30 odd kms did not disappoint. How about the last 3 or so kms!!!

Another great race and a winner that wasn't expected. Brilliant. Gret effort by Tallingi (or whowever it's spelt).

Can't say I felt sorry for Boonen, Chavs crash was a hard one, and chappeau to him for still finishing.

Odd race in that a breakaway succeeded and that the favourites didn't feature apart from Canc. If van Summeren wasn't out front, wonder who would have won then ?

And 2 aussies in the top 15. Great effort.

Any idea what the problem was with Haussler ?

How about Baden Cooke, cycling with a broken cleat for 2km, then no shoe for 1km.... That can't be fun.

That explains why he looked like he was riding round the velodrome and 15kmh.

Dunno about groupset, but Campagnolo I think

Another tough guy story - Apparently Kurt Asle Averson (sp ?) rode the last 20km with a broken saddle ... :shock:

There were some interesting mecahnical adaptations for the race. It appeared that a lot of guys were running cyclocross style cantilever brakes. Pretty sure I saw a Europecar team rider with interruptor levers too.

Interesting, as Stuey was trumpeting that he was in good form - what happened to them - crashes, or just too far behind ?

Even Chavanel finshed after his crash, and it looked like it hurt too !!
