Peugeot Aneto CFX10 - Reynolds 531c, full 105, turbo saddle, 3t stem, bars and seatpost. One of my 'regret i sold it' bikes.

I own this Peugeot. A very nice & very original piece that's hardly been riden. Got it from a much older guy that had it sitting in his living room next to his 1953 Triumph motocycle for God knows how long. It's the French version 501 Reynolds frame (circa '85 I was told), still has original Michelin tyres on French Rigida rims, Simplex drive & Wienmann brakes.

This is my first road bike rebuild, it is an '86 Tourmalet PH10LE for my better half. She loves it and proudly rides with her carbon clad friends

Ditch the stem-mounted shifters for bar-end shifters and assuming that you've put alloy rims on it, you've got yourself one nice light tourer type bicycle.

Thats an incredible bike and certainly for sunny days only, if you ever ride it.

I bought a Peugeot at a garage sale on the weekend, I think it is a PH10SC circa 1983-4.
I need a speedo sensor for it, if anyone knows where I might find one.
I like it very much, I hankered after one when I was younger but they were out of my price range. I got this for $20!

I won't put up pics because i'm too embarrassed but i have an Iseran frame i stripped, de rusted and did a god awful rattle can spray job on. Had it all built up for my brother (except the seat post), and THEN realised i should check the size. Yep way too small. So all the parts went on another bike and that frame with the disgusting paint job is sitting in the shed waiting for me to decide what to do.

One day i will find a Peugeot mixte at the tip that i can do up for my better half.

Not sure if this qualifies for the 'appreciation' or 'unappreciation' society. My supermarket bike. Rather generic nervex lugged peugeot in deliberate poor cosmetic condition. The bike I'm not unaffraid to leave outside a shop. Still has the mafac brakes, but running sugino maxi cranks, shimano hubs, 27inch sun rims, suntour shifters & rear derailluer. Wanted to run a suntour on the front derailluer too, but of course the ruddy french have an unusual seat tube dia and the clamp won't hold. Will maintain it in good running condition and maybe do some kind of tidy up one year.




Also have a 1970's mixte currently getting an overhaul. Will post pics when complete.

Here's my latest project - old DF-5 mixte. Steel everything and rusty as all hell. Going to sand it down a bit to see how far the corrosion goes. If it's OK, it's off to be sandblasted.

Thanks for the link, that's a very interesting site, especially the page about the bike boom, i can't believe that 15 million bikes were sold in one year in the 70s!

Thanks to that site, i've now decided to to a proper job on my Iseran (and then sell/give it away as it's too small for me) and am thinking about using appropriate components, but i can't find anywhere on that site what sort of derailleurs it had, only 'shimano z501 stem shifters'.

Hi there - this also posted in retro biking but was asked to post photos here

I just picked up a Peugeot road bike ($20) and was wondering if anyone has more complete info on the bike than I have been able to muster. It came with a Suntour Superbe group set (yippeee) in pretty good condition 10 speed, with Shimano 5 speed freewheel. It has a Sugino Titanium axle / BB, Fiamme tubular rims (for the bin I think) and the hubs are called (I think) Sunshine pro-am (might keep these If folks think this is worthwhile). The frame has a few patches of surface rust but seems to be in good condition and seems pretty light. It has Champion stamped on the bottom of the BB. Can anyone provide info on the age and frame material. Is it a bike that I should put a lot of effort into restoring? I may go down the powdercoating / spray paining route and I've found some decals from Cyclomono which are pretty close. Any idea where I could find some Superbe decals??

Also I'm going to take out the bottom bracket, can I assume that its regular thread on LHS and reverse thread on RHS as with most bikes, or is the French thing a bit different?
