Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could Id this frame.
It is a 27" (wheels as uposed to seat tube), has shimano rear dropouts and is completlely chromed under the paint.
I thought the seat stays might give it away.
Does anyone know how to strip the paint without damaging the chrome underneith?
Components were a complete mismatch so no clues there I'm afraid!

Don't quote me, but that symbol under the BB reminds me of the old Hitachi logo, did they build bikes?

A quick google search seems to indicate that Hitachi is (or at least was in the early 90s) "one of the big three" for making frame tubing/lugs. See this article on the Richard Sachs site, for example.Mulger bill wrote:Don't quote me, but that symbol under the BB reminds me of the old Hitachi logo, did they build bikes?

These head lugs are the shortest skirt I've ever seen - so sexy.
Looks like a very good frame. The fork is probably not original. Opposed to the frame it has holes for mudgards. It also looks older in style.
The frame might be from the late 80s/ early 90s. The Hitachi idea might be right on.
