Postby LoveB » Sat May 21, 2011 4:47 pm

I'm about to get one... can any owners give me info on them? just gonna use it as a commuter/getaround bike as I dont like riding the MTB everywhere...

I think its still pretty stock/original.. but I will probably change parts out in the future. I'll post pics up tomorrow. :D

lol we've just moved in so pardon the mess :p

Brakes feel a bit weak. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by MTB disks. lol Although I was told he put lower end brake pads as the original ones were worn.

Kool Stop pads are one of the best value for money upgrades any rim braked bike can have.

A quick google has a going rate of about $15 an end in Australia, UK sites may well be cheaper.

Took her out today to the city. hills and all. I never realized how much fun a single gear could give me. lol Hills were surprisingly easier than doing it on an MTB lol

Top stuff. Chuck some drops or bar ends on for proper leverage and then it'll climb better. The geometry looks very similar to the KHS I just bought. Very enjoyable.

Thanks. Gonna have to try and borrow dropbars first as ppl mentioned it might be too big for me to use drops. But I'll have to see how it goes :D

Use a 10mm or 20mm shorter stem, it wont be a problem IMHO. You will be more stretched out on drops if you ride on the hoods, but you get more positions for out-of-the-saddle work.
