+1 sogood... especially this time of year, when I drink more on my rides, it would be good to have a full zip jersey!

I've come to this late, but I usually plug the Uno Ghia knicks that I wear, so here goes. They're not that expensive, fit and wear well, and are well padded. Get the 'sumpremo' ones with the orange insert, rather than the basic ones with the blue 'club' insert - it's worth the extra ten bucks.
Litespeed Classic - 3Al/2.5V titanium tube set, Record 9-speed groupset, Open Corsa Evo CX
Alchemy Diablo - Columbus Zonal tubing, Ultegra 9-speed groupset, UltraGatorskins
Gitane Rocks T1 - U6 tubing, Deore/XT groupset, CrossMarks

Quick question: do you supposed to wear the bib inside or outside (i.e. cover with another top)?

Inside. Outside if you want to add some warmth, but just don't have it on the very outside. Real fred material.

Guys any recommendations on material?
And whats the deal with the number of panels, how does that help?

Some are...

-Nylon/Spandex
-Polyamide/Lycra
-Lycra/Polyamide/Elastane
-Nylon/Elastane

So much marketing BS, I don't know whats better than what?

Ok I picked up the UNO Supremo with the orange insert (recommended by LuckyPierre), feels good but have to test it out this weekend.

Can it be machine washed?

What's the label say? I wouldn't put lycra materials any where near a top-loading agitator-type machine (too rough). Front-loader on delicate cycle with minimal detergent or woolwash for my gear after a longer, sweaty ride, or rinse in the shower after shorter rides. Drip-dry in shade. Do not wring. Chamois creme for longer rides.

If they turn out to be good value for money knicks, get a second pair....

Oh, and you can wear a breathable under-t-shirt with them (with a jersey over), just not a daggy, baggy t-shirt!

Good idea! I'm going to pre-wash it before the 1st use for hygiene reason.

Others have answered but I'll throw in my opinion too.

I wash all my synthetic bike gear in the machine (top loader), delicate cycle, using a green choice detergent. Hasn't damaged anything or faded anything over the course of a year.

Don't use enzyme based detergents though as the enzymes that make them work can attack synthetic fibres and cause the clothing to wear out very quickly.

The most damage I've done to my bike gear has been from the legs rubbing on the velcro on the seat bag, so make sure that's tucked in out of the way.

And free advertising for Cell. Not a bad deal.

Has anyone used the Cell knicks and jerseys? What are they like in terms of durability, etc? I have bought a few different brands from Torpedo 7 and so far they're all OK but less than 3 months old (and with 5 pairs of knicks and 6 jerseys there's a good rotation to ensure no one items gets heaps of wear).

Don't like paying too much for gear. Bought a pair of bib knicks (Santini) from Ride in Style (Cottesloe, Perth) for $59 cash the other day. They are selling off old team gear. As long as you don't worry about being colour coordinated they do the job.
