No, but the ACT Vets 'recovery ride' leaves the Jolimont Centre at 8:00am on Boxing Day. I'll let you know how far we went when I get back from it!

I like the idea for carbo loading via brown bottle though.

It's at least 100 metres to the nearest pub (P J O'Reilly's - not that I'd know a thing like that), but it won't be open at that that time of the morning (even in Canberra). Maybe it will be when we get back!

Well I got a Christmas present of sorts for myself the other day when they were on special.

Some Look Keo (Classic) pedals that I thought would look great on the Masi instead of those ordinary brandless ones that are currently on my pride and joy. So imagine my surprise that when I went to fit them I found one of the pedals had been cross threaded when assembled.

Disappointment is one word that comes to mind but only as an adjunct to all the swearing that went on. So this week it is back to the bike shop where I got the Masi and they can fix the problem by replacing the left crank.

The ride was a relatively easy trip out the Federal Highway to Shingle Hill Road and back with breakfast at the Italian Bite in Civic. Just over 57 km by my speedo, averaging 28.6 km/hr - it was a great ride, with about 50 of us all up.

Bus, what do you mean bus!
This was a bike ride. The table at breakfast looked a bit like a bus - most riders stayed and we had one long table with over 30 people sitting down.
We even had a 'celebrity sighting'. Mick Rogers stopped for a while in his magenta team colours, but he didn't sit with us - a 'real' rider's physique is a bit different to your average Vet!
