Surprisingly  the weather this morning was extremely bleak and wet looking.
Again.
Because i have not been on the bike for a week i insisted on riding to work, fortunately that is only 8 km.
MSO accused me of being a SB to contemplate bike riding in this weather

But i got to work relatively dry and comfy and minimal rear wheel lock-up.
Just gotta get home again though.

Well I didn't get as wet as I was expecting. Mental note to self - when going through deep puddles on Kedron brook slow down a little so the bow-wave off the front wheel doesn't fill your shoes

Haha, not quite, I tend to be out the door by 4.30/4.40 . I like to think I'm getting a superior return on my Ayup investment :D[/quote]

I also like riding early in the morning before sunrise. First up I think with blinking tail lights and a a good headlight that I'm more visible. Second is that the roads are quieter and those tradies that are out seem to be more polite and give me at least a half a roads worth of space when they pass.

Besides that, I have this superior glib smile on my face knowing that I'm on my way home when all the other riders are just staring to head out to face the madding hordes. :D

Interestingly between 5 and 6 it's known as tradie hour here. That's when I find there on their worst behaviour. The bogan/tradie doesn't like to be caught doing anti social stuff so the more people around the better they behave imho. Of course that small % of them are careless and inconsiderate at any time.

Far out, it is cold today. :( I'm sitting in my office wearing shirt, shorts, tracky dacks, jacket, beanie and socks and I'm STILL cold. I'm really looking forward to an early morning ride tomorrow

Hey! No venting unless you are riding

I left work at 2 and was surprised to go out to wet road and threatening skies. I powered to Alderley, picked up off spring and was putting the bike on the back when it started raining again. It stopped by the time I got to school. Say What?

It's still trying to rain out there and I'm debating whether to do my early Tuesday ride and get the bike covered in mud :(

I blame BOM for being useless more than anything. Showers. Shower or Two. Possible Showers. Morning showers. I mean geez if there is a going to be cloud in the sky they will just say something with showers, which probably ends up being a blue sky clear day.

I second that - it was a damn sight warmer at 6am this morning than what it is now. I shudder to think what it will be like tomorrow morning. On the bright side - I'm not in Stanthorpe. It was only 4C there at 5pm this afternoon.

Qld weather venting posts

Postby ozzymac » Thu Jun 09, 2011 5:38 pm

Hi,
Are you sure it's cold? Wife and I went for our ride this morning and it was freezing, thought our finger tips were going to drop off, what makes it worse is that it's only her 2nd ride back after her broken ankle healing up enough for walking etc so the rides are fairly slow with a few stops on top of the hills.

It was great to get home and have a hot shower.

Cheers
