RETRO RACING BIKES - SHOGUN / APOLLO

Postby aws » Sun Dec 17, 2006 4:53 pm

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can give some advice on some old 80's / 90's racing bikes. I have a couple of old racing bikes and only have space now to keep one. Problem is I am not sure which is the better 2bike. They are all 12 speed Shimano equiped and all from late 80s early 90s. One is a Shogun Katana, a Shogn Selectra and an Apollo Eclipse. Any advice on which Shogun was the better model or where the Apollo comapres would be appreciated.

Keep the Katana - the Apollo Eclipse was mid-range (I knew the 'numbered' models better though) and the Selectra had lesser equipment than the Katana.
Besides, Tojo would approve!

I've got an Apollo III(about 1985 vintage I think), and it's an exellent commuter bike at the very least. Mine's got a rattle somewhere(I suspect it's the reflectors in the wheels).

It's pretty fast bike, quite capable of eating any mountain bike :P
