The letour website now has A Schleck at -:06, Contador remaining at -1:20. I assume that means that A Schleck was seen in the leading bunch after the first accident.

Mmm that is going to make it that much harder for Cadel .. glad he made a dash for the line; every second will count.

Not saying he is not a great sprinter but I have always thought that he could not win without the lead train. Look at how quickly he gave up when they went pass him in the middle sprint last night.

I think if you look back at the TdF last year, Cavendish had to operate with a very weak lead out train (sometimes non existant) once Renshaw got evicted...and he still won. I think last year Cavendish really displayed his incredible tallent where he had to think and fight for himself and follow wheels (not of his train) and win.

Last night was more of a case of his train not being any where near fast enough to launch from...I dont think from lack of horsepower...probably more lack of commitment. I carnt imagine they will make the same mistake again.

Awesome result for Cadel...great work by the BMC boys...really solid.

So far so good. Cervelo doing really well (almost rode mine to work today in celebration) and Cadel in the hunt. I really hope Cadel does it this year. He has worked so hard. I know they all have but I like Cadel.

I think I'll have to take my Cervelo (old P2K TT bike) for the commute today! I just with I could get it to go that quickly instead of always finishing dead in the middle!

Would it be putting the mockers on to say that Cadel could now be the favourite? If he can do so much work on the front and still beat the Schlecks, who were looking strained just sitting on Cancellara's wheel, surely he has to be in superb form and will be able to take considerable time off Andy in the individual TT. Cadel seems to have a loyal team and is attacking whenever possible. Not that I know anything but surely this could finally be The Year.

After all that time hearing people blame Cadel's leadership for Lotto's TTT woes of earlier years, it was interesting to see that they failed to defend the yellow jersey when it was worn by someone else.

evans' popularity seems much higher nowadays. his new attacking style is a winner with the tifosi - he won't die wondering, which is good. dertie has demonstrated that it's not all about winning - his palmares are great, but he is unlikely to be remembered fondly.
