Always up for a challenge so have created the Australian Cycling Forums team in the 2011 Bicycle NSW Commuter Challenge which runs until March 31, 2012. If you want to join the challenge and the ACF team, just sign up and select Australian Cycling Forums as the team.
The following is the blurb on the challenge:
The Bicycle NSW Commuter Challenge is an initiative to encourage and reward individuals to cycle all or part of the journey to work and to also encourage cycling outside of the workplace - for transport, fitness and recreation. We’ve kept this year’s challenge free so it’s accessible to everyone, however if you’d like to make a donation towards the cost of running the challenge please do so through the registration form.
We’ve made a few changes and improvements upon last year’s challenge.
This year, upon registration you’ll be asked to select a goal. You can choose from 250km, 500km, 1000km, 2000km, 5000km. Choose the goal that will challenge you most. You have until March 31st to complete your chosen distance goal!
You’ll also have the option of forming a team. A team can be formed from any group of people doing the challenge. If you are a team captain please register your team name here first before you and your team mates register individually. Once you have registered your team name, it will then appear on a drop down menu on the individual registration form. Your team goal will be the sum of individual goals.
There will be a number of mini challenges within this year’s Commuter Challenge for both teams and individuals so keep an eye on the newsletter to take part!
We’ve also improved how you record your rides! Upon registering for the challenge you'll have the option to receive either a paper, e-log book or use an online journal to log your rides. Once you've accumulated kilometres and have reached your chosen goal return your log book to receive a certificate of completion
We’ve got plenty of prizes to give out! Check the monthly newsletter to see if you've won. Bicycle NSW memberships, Commuter Challenge Jerseys and other cycling accessories up for grabs.
You can also now get more involved by joining the Bicycle NSW online community! Bicycle NSW have a new Online Community http://community.bicyclensw.org.au. Join the Commuter Challenge group to chat with others doing the challenge, ask questions, get advice, tell us what you want and what we can improve!
