Calga speeds v Penrith TT speed

Postby Chris249 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 11:11 am

I'm going to do the 20km TT at the flat Penrith course tomorrow. Does anyone know how my target speed should compare to the ones I get on the undulating 25km course at Calga? I'm a bit concerned that I won't get the chances to get my breath back that you get on the downhills at Calga.

Also, does anyone know how many laps the 20km ride at Penrith is?

There are many types of racing cyclists. There is the sprinter, the rouleur, the stagiaire, the danser, the descender.... sadly, I'm a mediocre. :-(

Chris, I haven't done a TT at Penrith but I have raced there, so I'll take a guess. Assuming no wind, I'd estimate Penrith to be 1.5 to 2.5kph ave faster. However there are individual rider variables, so who knows, but you will be faster at Penrith
