Head music today/favourite?

Postby Marto » Tue Jul 12, 2011 10:07 am

You are riding along, and you realise there has been a tune in your head for the last 30 minutes. At least I hope other people get that, otherwise

Sometimes you wonder how a tune got into your head, and maybe how to get it out.

Commuting home last night, I had Not Fade Away, by The Stones playing in my head. Don't know where that came from, but nice cycling music nonetheless :D .

Fine taste, sir. The Stones' early stuff clearly shows who/what influenced their style.

I know exactly what you mean, and often have the same thing.

This morning, it was "Leave a tender moment alone" by Billy Joel.

Why? Dunno. Maybe I'm going nuts... :|

Walk. Foo Fighters.

I just can't get enough of it. Been playing Wasting light in my truck every day since it was released. I've always been a mild FF fan but this album is fantastic. I just hope I can get tickets to their Sydney concert.

Lifes funny - voices in your head because you're a bit nuts, music in your head because you're cool.

    • Darling, don't you ever sit and ponder?
      darling did you ever think
About the building of the hills a yonder?
all this life stuff's closely linked
Where we're going in this verdant spiral?
Who's pushing the pedals on the season cycle?

Not wrong. Disc one is an instant coaster, disc two's only running about 40% worthwhile.

Punk Jazz - Jaco Pastorius (the big band arrangement on the Birthday Concert CD, not the Weather Report version). Had no listened to it for a couple of years at least and it pops into my head all the time, cycling or otherwise.

I find Sepultura's "Arise" is good. Song was tracked at 220bpm, that gives you a good 110rpm target to aim at for cadence. 8)

I have no idea why, but this one keeps popping up - pehaps I'm getting old.
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

En route this morning I found myself counting the number of sleeps until no more work until 2012. That number is 1, which led to this ...
