(WA) Cycling to Midland TAFE

Postby roland985 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:01 pm

Hi Guys, I have a nice Merida MTB, and I have decided to gear it up for the 24 km (both ways) journey to TAFE and back. The bike is a nice rugged workhorse I have had for 3 years. The roads I take are a mixture of gravel tracks, pathways (oh how I hate those, but I hate trucks more), and the standard roads. I have done the trial run today, and have found (timewise) it is on parity with the bus on a bad day, and better than the bus on a good day... Do you think I should get road slicks? I need to do some gravel riding...

Roland985, great name :).

If the gravel is not too bad, then yes, go for the slicks. They will assist on the road sections.

My initials are also RolandP...

Yeah, I'll get them then, save me time with higher speeds...
