Just picked this up , anyone interested .....

Postby xx68 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:44 pm

There has been a cleanup locally and being the bower bird ( with a ute! ) I picked up some stuff ....that i don't really need but can't bear to see tossed away as land fill - tecnically its recycling !
So I picked up this Malvern Star 24 inch , yes 24 inch . Its complete in fairly good nick - been in dry-ish storage so , any one keen ?
Its not valuable as far as i know , its small , but its got great decals and nice components - its probably 25 yrs old ! No you can't ride it home ....
You will have to pick up from N W Sydney ,
Its Free, but will end up costing you money !

Any hoo , back to my fiddling in the shed .

I am stuggling with the piccie size at present , i have reduced them down to 300xsomething or another ,but they keep coming out huge , so ive deleted them give me a tic and i;ll have a stern word with the "magic box "

cheers

That link is to your private site, so unless you share the password with us...

Or better yet, check Photobucket, I'm pretty sure there's an option to resize it on the site itself instead of having to fiddle around manually on your own computer, something like "Resize for forums" or similar.

Hi XX68, if no one wants the bike I will happily take it. I can pass it on to one of the local cycling clubs as it is a great size for one of the kids to start out on. They often use these are loan bikes to the kids.

Hi Mike, were you after the small road bike? I am picking it up and can drop it to yourself or Lindsay when I am over that way next. I'd drop it off at Al's but I would worry it would never appear again.

Hi Karen, Lindsay wants it for Juniors. Appreciate you picking it up.

Al is in Tasmania and Lindsay is going there this weekend. Any chance of holding on to it?

its an early 80s dragster ,wheels are original 20 inchers the rear is a 3speed hub , i put a set of late bmx bars and a cotterless crank set on it ...its a black suede colour  the original paint is purrpull , i built it up for a giggle one night it rides nice but not like i remember (AT) 12yrs old ! I actually had a set of 24inch forks on it - chopper stylin' but it was a bit 'lazy' in the turns 8)

:D , Excellent , as i pulled it down again yesterday ( born to fiddle ) and then back together again - regreased , the front chainwheel is a little bent but servicable and the rack makes it easier to get dinner , as i found last night - quicker to scoot to the shops and back home , So it is the " bottlo runner"
Image "

And after taking my bmx out for a little run ( maybe 5km) i know this one is a little more comfy and no where near as 'skitt-ish '

I'll keep my eye for any more 'kerbside treasure' as the cleanups are due shortly and its after the festive season !
