Maybe Tom Boonen should take up playing footy instead then!

Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in CyclingI understand the steak in question was Spanish which is why Spanish butchers no longer cheer for Contador.
I don't have facts though know that there is random testing in the EU (duh!) and am speculating that testing every single meat shipment would explode costs and administration. BNA Feature: E-Bike Buyers Guide App on Now iTunes
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
We have plenty of cattle lying around doing nothing....
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
i would speculate the same. the purpose of testing is usually to provide a deterrent, by instilling a belief that there is a high enough chance of being caught to assess breaching standards a poor risk-reward proposition. there's no need to test every shipment. (incidentally this is what people really mean when they object to the proliferation of "revenue raising" speed cameras - the risk-reward proposition for speeding stops adding up)
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in CyclingTry (take a look at) Ractopamine
(Not on the WADA list, not observed in E.U. and legal in USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico AND Australia!... same results as Clen) Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
I think you'll find it is prohibited. Ractopamine is a beta agonist. S0. NON-APPROVED SUBSTANCES Any pharmacological substance which is not addressed by any of the subsequent sections of the List and with no current approval by any governmental regulatory health authority for human therapeutic use (i.e. drugs under pre-clinical or clinical development or discontinued) is prohibited at all times. S3. BETA-2 AGONISTS All beta-2 agonists (including both optical isomers where relevant) are prohibited except salbutamol (maximum 1600 micrograms over 24 hours) and salmeterol when taken by inhalation in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommended therapeutic regime.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
i can't read it, but it sounds like the usual old doping news (Ballan, BMC evolving from Phonak) that will coincidentally be dredged up in July of every year.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cyclingor not
BMC soigneur just arrested for being caught with an EPO stash (in 2009). this is bad news.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
Nice timing. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/former- ... -drug-bust Might not be a big deal.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
Prohibited (maybe) but not analysed for (I would think) by WADA.... "Not on the WADA list" as stated. (and the point was, regularly found in the food chain) Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
it seems to have fizzled out a bit, in the media at least. the guy doesn't seem to be that closely connected to BMC - only helping out now and then. you'd imagine a team wouldn't trust their systemic doping program with a casual assistant.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in CyclingQuick Step bus seized by French police
The police turned up at the Quick Step hotel late on Friday afternoon and asked for the chauffer of the bus. They then took the bus to the police station in La Roche-sur-Yon, 50km from the Quick Step hotel and half way between the French coast and Mont des Alouettes, where the first stage of the Tour de France will finish on Saturday. L'Equipe later reported that the team had been tipped off to the search before it happened, and that nothing suspicious was found on the bus and it is to be released back to the team tonight. It is believed that the police had written legal permission to seize the bus but the Quick Step claimed they do not known the motive for the police action. "The team wants to specify that no other team vehicle underwent any searches. The team feels' deeply harmed by the consequent media focus on what happened today, which we feel has damaged the team's image and the image of cycling in general," a statement read.

Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cyclingone of my patients gets drug tested a lot for her sport, and her revelations of the actual mechanations of drug testing were eye opening.
i assumed it was a case of go in there and fill this up. "oh no..." everything needs to be witnessed... talk about stage fright !!
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
Yeah, had a few drug tests for work (military and mines) in the Army we were watched weeing in the cup, at the mines they had a cubicle and a camera that the nurse used to watch from outside.
Re: Crapola!!!....P.E.D's in Cycling
There is a well documented process that all athletes that expect to compete and have possibility of being tested should familarise themselves with. They are all on the ASADA website, along with instructional videos showing how it all works. Features a few well known people, like Nicole Livingstone and Barry Hall.
