I got hill climb to Beachmont today.

Wadda you got?
1200k's a month is all I got. Hopefully that's enough.
I went to an Outdoors shop in The Valley yesterday.
Bought a few thermal shirts and socks.
Doesn't matter how fit you are, if you get a cold rainy day on the bike you will struggle.
The Texas to Stanthorpe stage is about 100 km.
No shops to warm up in along the way IIRC.
That will be cold one if the rain sets in.

Woohoo
Rider packs arrived today. Now I am excited. Apres ride entertainment looks good too.
Hopefully the new tandem will be fixed in time.

No, I was self-censoring. Next time, I'll just say "bastards", consequences be damned.

One more day before I go on leave, one more day before I go on leave, one more day, one more day, one more day......

Then I'll be spending every day until CQ riding because my winter laziness seem to have left me a little bike unfit! I think I'll be on one of those SAG buses on day 3!

Countdown is on. Sounds like the cold and/wet has hampered everyones efforts for getting some training in.

Showers forcast for Gundi next week, hopefully clearing by the weekend! http://www.weatherzone.com.au/long-rang ... ling-downs

Same, trying to get a folding chair in so I can get some sort of back support!

Good luck to you all, and safe riding.

It's still way too cold for me to consider doing... I found it cold enough in Monto last year.

Astro, on the 2009 ride they set out quite a lot of plastic chairs & tables for breakfast & dinner. Wasn't hard to find one, so my choice this year is to take advantage of the chairs & only pack a small 3leg stool.

Yeah, I was there in 09, I found the dining area pretty busy and had resort to my 3 legged camp stool most nights

I found getting a chair in 2010 difficult too.
Kmart have $5 camping chairs with back support that seem very light.

I'm not going to chance it. After all day crouched over the bike, at the end of the day I want a bit of back support. Could be an age thing?

Man, I'm really slack. I haven't washed any clothes, haven't packed any bags, haven't done bugger-all. I'd better get cracking!

I've had all my gear sprawled out on the lounge room floor all week. Packed last night, weighed, unpacked, repacked, reweighed, unpacked etc etc etc.....
