hi im look for a road bike spending under $1000 what would be a good bike to buy

A Trek 1000 or a giant OCR3 are both around $999

At $700 you are right at the bottom end. You could go to Cell Bikes.

In the end you get what you paid for.
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

You can get cheaper with flat bar road bikes, like the CRX range.

see im only a student so i can only aford around a $700 bike and then i have to buy tools etc

Have a good search for second hand bikes too. Uni notice boards would be a good start.

I have a Cell S3300. I reckon its a great buy.

That said I am a novice, and a (very) casual rider so YMMV...
