Prepping for a big ride ... What fruit has worked well in the stomach and for energy for:
-before cycling and
-during (lunch break maybe)
only asking coz I am prepping a list.
So far on the list is stuff (not fruit) that I have thrown up during a long endurance ride
Note: I don't want a dietitians answer ... just based on people's experience out there

While riding; dried fruits (all kinds) bananas are great. Grapes or fresh dates!
Rest/break; all kinds of melons, apples and so on

If you can't explain it simply, then you don't understand it well enough.

Fruit cake.
Cheap, easy to eat, high in calories and generally OK taste wise.

Bananas or dates work for me.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

The bananananananananna is worshipped by cyclists for good reasons.
ON the ski slopes in Canada and the US, banana bread with chocolate chips is sold everywhere, and is a great energy/carb boost for your legs. I always keep one stashed in my jacket and always need it at some stage.
