An elderly man has died after a runaway trailer pinned him against a fence in Sydney's south-west yesterday.
Police say the 81-year-old was pushing his bicycle along the footpath on Elizabeth Drive at Ashcroft about 1:30pm (AEST) when a box trailer detached from a passing four-wheel drive.

still, 81 years and on the bike still beats a stroke, nursing home and dirty nappies.
oh to be "so lucky"...

Damn, what a way for yer number to come up.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
