I'm up for a rest day meet - maybe a get-together in the afternoon? Or were people thinking of some sort of outing earlier in the day?

What about meet up on the evening before ?
then if there are some of us uncommited to a rest day activity some plans might be made.

On another note, i had some CQ-related fun this morning.
In the good old days cardboard bike-boxes used to just fit snugly into the back passenger space of a sedan car.
These days either cars have got smaller or bikes have got bigger because there was no way this one was gonna fit.
I wont let on how i eventually managed to transport it from bikeshop back to home.
Then to cap it off i tripped and broke my toe

Youch elantra! :(

If you want to meet the half way crew we should be settled in and thirsty by 5pm on the rest day. We won't really be there any earlier.

Sounds good to me! Perhaps we should all swap our phone numbers via PM, so we can find each other in the thronging crowd?

Yowsa! Will you be OK to ride?

Met two baby boomers last Friday night who are doing the full ride - Michael (accountant) and Cathy.
Told them to keep an eye out from Stanthorpe for two 6ft3inch sub 80kg missiles, who will probably have a beer welded to their hand when not on the bike. :)

will try to make this but as i am a part-time riding volunteer i might have "work commitments"

Because of the "volunteering" commitments i have not planned anything for the rest day yet.
Gotta get there first i guess.
Can't wait.

P.S. broken toe is no impediment to riding a bike :D

Well, I've finally packed. But the bags are much lighter than last year... have I forgotten something important? Will I discover something crucial is missing? Damnit, I better check my checklist. Again.

Bloody hell! I knew it'd be cold, but I was still in denial about it. I might add a few things to the bags this morning!

I hope you guys and gals are having a great ride!

There is much packing going on here. I just spoke to my ride buddy and found out his definition of taking it easy over 450k and five days is averaging 30. God help me.

You'll be fine Steve, as long as the wind doesn't change to an easterly or northerly! Have fun getting up Mt Walker

Mr MM and I are hoping to join in the fun for next years ride!

Easy day yesterday. Bloody cold night!

Today's ride was a mixed bag. I joined two other girls not long after leaving camp and we rode well together. They set a cracking pace (guessing avg 33kph which is fast for me). I was baked by the time we reached the first stop. In hindsight, I should've taken it easy. After the rest stop, the rest of the ride felt super-tough. Bonk city :(

Still, it was fun. Not sure how I feel about tomorrow's ride!!!

Bummer. A mechanical failure stopped me at around 50 km yesterday. :( Hopefully Epic will have it fixed for tomorrow!

Shaping up to be a nice day in Stanthorpe today. :)
