Sometimes you wonder how a tune got into your head, and maybe how to get it out.
Commuting home last night, I had Not Fade Away, by The Stones playing in my head. Don't know where that came from, but nice cycling music nonetheless

Head music today/favourite?You are riding along, and you realise there has been a tune in your head for the last 30 minutes. At least I hope other people get that, otherwise

Re: Head music today/favourite?Fine taste, sir. The Stones' early stuff clearly shows who/what influenced their style.
I know exactly what you mean, and often have the same thing. This morning, it was "Leave a tender moment alone" by Billy Joel. Why? Dunno. Maybe I'm going nuts... volutamus scandemus

You must have been riding close to the rail line I reckon Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.

Re: Head music today/favourite?Walk. Foo Fighters.
I just can't get enough of it. Been playing Wasting light in my truck every day since it was released. I've always been a mild FF fan but this album is fantastic. I just hope I can get tickets to their Sydney concert.
Re: Head music today/favourite?Sultan of Swing - Dire Straits.
Reason - don't know but it is nice to hum while riding. Not fast, no style, but still get there.
Re: Head music today/favourite?Lifes funny - voices in your head because you're a bit nuts, music in your head because you're cool.
Not at all tempted by "Cycling Tracks" promoted on SBS for the TdF coverage I was going to buy a fast, stylish bike, but I looked in the mirror & thought "you're not fooling anyone, you know"

Re: Head music today/favourite?
Not wrong. Disc one is an instant coaster, disc two's only running about 40% worthwhile. Motorheads Ace Of Spades opening pumps me every time it enters me head. ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Re: Head music today/favourite?Punk Jazz - Jaco Pastorius (the big band arrangement on the Birthday Concert CD, not the Weather Report version). Had no listened to it for a couple of years at least and it pops into my head all the time, cycling or otherwise.

Re: Head music today/favourite?I find Sepultura's "Arise" is good. Song was tracked at 220bpm, that gives you a good 110rpm target to aim at for cadence.

I have no idea why, but this one keeps popping up - pehaps I'm getting old. It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.
