Australian 200m freestyler Kenrick Monk has had his Olympic preparation thrown into chaos after being involved in a hit-and-run accident yesterday. Commonwealth Games relay gold medallist Kenrick Monk will see a specialist today after being knocked off his push bike, breaking his elbow in two places, on his way to afternoon training in Brisbane yesterday.

The 200m freestyle specialist, who first represented Australia in 2006 at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games before going on to swim at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, was knocked off his bike in a hit and run accident yesterday afternoon on Central Avenue in the suburb of Indooroopilly, Brisbane.
Glad he's alive though.

Sucks for his professional swimming career :-(

Yes - already posted here.
I ride, therefore I am. But don't ride into harm's way.

Not that I can see. I'll lock this thread instead.

Further discussion on this bit of nastiness HERE.
