The beauty of the standard twist shifter is that you can change more than one gear if you so desire instead of clicking up through the gears or through 2-4 gears at a time instead of potentially coming to a stop in 14 oops I need 8 and shift to 8 very very quickly.rifraf wrote:HI everyone,
sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere (please let me know so I can delete it if it has).
I thought the Rohloff fans and owners might be interested in these links if they aren't already aware of them.
Hopefully this is helpful

There's another one pictured in the current CTC mag:

I spotted these links at the online Moulton forum, of whom a fair few are IGH fans.

Great looking bars with great range of hand positions but half a kilo of weight? (Loop H)Wingnut wrote: I was quoted $162.95 including postage for the loop bar aluminium version...

Hmm? If you compare the bars to a flat bar there is quite a bit more length in total so logically it would weigh more.rifraf wrote:Great looking bars with great range of hand positions but half a kilo of weight? Whilst I'm not looking for super fly for my bike 500g has made me stop and take a breath
I don't think my current Reynolds 753 flat bar would come too close to that even with its bar ends.
Definitely a very attractive bar mind you...........half a kilo?
I wouldnt call myself a weight weenie as I only just took off my Brooks B73 but thats some weight to add.

I've never been able to understand this line of thinking - if your bike is already heavy, surely you would want to avoid making it any heavier?Wingnut wrote:Touring bikes weigh so much anyway (well mine does ) I wouldn't consider the weight an issue.

I have no intention to make the bike heavier, I think it's just a matter of compromise between weight, performance & durability. For me, touring long km's makes fit & durability a priority.RonK wrote:I've never been able to understand this line of thinking - if your bike is already heavy, surely you would want to avoid making it any heavier?Wingnut wrote:Touring bikes weigh so much anyway (well mine does ) I wouldn't consider the weight an issue.
