It is 3 days after the HTM Brisbane to Gold Coast ride.
How far has everyone got to ride to their workplace? Be interesting to see who has some good distances they could cover.
26kms for me, and I do the ride whenever I can at the moment.

My goal is to do this five days a week.
I have been nagging my wife and colleagues to ride on the 12th Oct .I hope I get some company!

My contribution will be 18km in the morning, and somewhere between 30km and 35km for the trip home thru Grapevine Country

Or maybe I'm just cynical.

RIDE TO WORK DAY 12 OCTOBER 2011
Postby Sir Stinkalot » Wed Oct 12, 2011 10:02 am
I asked about having a keep clear on the southern side of Greenhill Road (Porter Street intersection) so when the traffic comes to a stop at Unley Road at least it would help the drivers think that they should leave the intersection clear for bikes trying to cross, vehicles turning right into Porter from Greenhill and any cars trying to get out of Porter.
Generally it isn't to bad however you still get the group of vehicles that would rather crawl up to the line of cars waiting at the lights than let anybody in or across. When you have three lanes of traffic this is 95% of the time.
The response to the very simple and easy keep clear roadmarkings was yes we could do that or we can do expensive lights like the have on Greenhill Road near the showgrounds.
Fingers crossed it is only line marking as it would be terrible to have to sit there waiting for lights when it is clear to cross, and the stupid pedestrian rat run cage thing. That and given it takes Adelaide council worker 4x longer to do anything than any east coast Council we will still be riding through a construction zone for the 2013 ride to work day.
I did get a showbag with an apple, puncture repair kit, muesli bar, prima, map and a survey. Very happy with that. My rates at work!
Cheers
Stinky

Did stop in at Victoria Square for some munchies though. Nice change.
Tried to get people at work motivated to join in but didn't end up with more than just me.

I was very proud of myself as I am the only one and gave myself a pat on the back.
