3rd year I've registered, and 3rd year in a row I've missed it... sick once, overseas last year and this year on leave with a new baby...

Was awesome - real coffee, BANANAS, yum yum! Free t-shirt from my health provider, free water bottle, bag of lollies from BWA. I am cheap and easily impressed ;)

Well done to everyone who was able to ride to work today, especially the newbies! :D

I'm still stuck at my desk at home. Sigh.

Schmenz... what about some pants clips? or those reflective ankle strap things? or tucking pants into a sock?

I wanted to after it poured rain last year. Weather forecast was good. Woke up to this.

With the Round the bay ride on Sunday, I didn't want to risk a cold or bike damage today.

i dont have any ankle strappy thingos - i did consider using hair elastics! :D and then i remembered the butt pain the first time i rode my bike without knicks.. couldnt sit for a week!

so i lycra-d up.

so just to get lunch, not only did i have to cycle through the busy streets in the middle of the day, but in lycra in broad daylight.. eeek .

i apologise to the people of parramatta!

I'm sure there are many other unsavoury sights to behold in Parra than a female cyclist wearing lycra ;)

+1 on packing it in from home :) Frozen leftover soups/stews/curries etc are good, guaranteed no seepage (just need to wrap the container in a teatowel to keep the condensation off your clothes).

Good commute this morning, plus a breakky barbecue at work - woohoo! 8)

I was way too late for brekky or anything because of <insert lame excuse here>. I did ride, though. I think it's the first national Ride to Work Day where I've actually ridden to work, with one thing and another. :D TBH, I forgot it was on and wondered why there were a few more bikes around than usual. Hope everyone had a good ride...

Rode in this morning with some colleagues, and we headed up to the breakfast at the Optus campus. A big thanks to all the Optus folks who organized it: bacon and egg rolls, flat white coffee, juice, bananas, all gratis. A microfiber towel as a gift, free bike checks from Renegade Cycles, free commuter maps from Bicycle NSW (I think) and even free back and neck massages. All much appreciated and a great vibe amongst the riders. I'm not connected with an of the organizations involved, but a big thanks to all of them.

Got free brekkie and coffee and I reckon there were more bikes on the roads today.

Maybe we should follow this with Drive to work day the very next day and really try and clog the roads with extra cars so they know just how much we reduce the traffic.

I was the only participant of my work place for Ride to Work day 2010. Yesterday I was one of 11. It was great, our local Camden Bakers Delight provided a lovely breakfast for us. And best of all a couple of noobies suggested that we start a monthly ride to work. Great achievement for this area I reckon.

Rode to work as I do every day. Didn't see any other bikes on the way in, but I start work at 5am so that's no surprise.

It's good to hear stories of people commuting for the first time. It can take a few times to work the bugs out, what clothes to bring, remembering to pack lunch etc. It's worth sticking with it for a few weeks until it's a habit!
