I was considering snapping this up.

It doesn't look too bad for the price and it is close to me...sort of.

It may even be handy to get my loving partner back onto a treddly.

Hard to beat 99c.

BTW, he's set his auction up wrong. He has the quantity set as 2, so you win the auction and which bike do you get? I think he meant both bikes in one Auction.

Birdman

How tall are you? That's a pretty big frame by the looks of it. Maybe a 58-59cm seat tube. I could be very wrong about that, so perhaps worth asking the question. If you want to know how good it could look with some new running gear, look here.

Hey Birdman

Less than 9 hrs to go. Did you get those measurements? $10, bloody hell. You get a bike for Lovey thrown in aswell.

I am actually looking at as we speak, wondering if i should bother asking my partner if I can bid on them.

I haven't checked the measurements as yet but my Europa i am nearly finished has a top tube of 56 and a seat tueb of 57...so i don't dunno.

I want to turn it into a fixie anyway. Even if it is $10 money is really tight with me at the moment so she would most likely go OFF!!!

But i want them, i want her on a bike, and the thing that really gets me is she lives like not even 1km away from work. And Drives.

Yeah mate, only you can decide. Worth asking the question though. If it doesn't measure favourably then it's not the go anyway. Old mate will be on the job during the count down so you should get an answer in time.

Good luck mate.

As for the girl. Always treat her like a Queen, maximum bid of $40 and a six pack instead of a carton this Friday. She'll love ya to death............or kill ya to death. One of those.

I asked so hopefully there will be an answer when i get home and my partner will let me grab them.

I briefly asked her and the answer was if you get them you will back at your mums place.

Wierd thing she is serious.

Well i got the measurements...

Sorry didn't get back earlier mate just got home from work.
O.K Measurements are from the back of the head set to the front of the seat post is 540mm. from the top of the seat post (frame tube) down to the top of the top of the bottom bracket is 615mm, I'm 6'4" I never had a problem riding it, hope that helps buddy!!
Cheers
Rick
So i don't think it would have been the best. Especially since i am 6' and i wanted to turn it into a fixie.

I also asked my fiancee if i could put a $20max bid on it. It sold for $15. But she went absolutely ballistic at me when i even mentioned it. So....sadly i didn't get it just for the mechanical practise.

Maybe when i get both my bikes good and proper she will understand Bikelor ( the bike god on his steel steed )'s mathematical equation of N+1 being the ideal number of bikes. We all know what N is

"She went ballistic" over a bike [or two bikes] that's worth less than the price of a pack of smokes? Mate, who wears the pants in your place? If she is threatening to turf you out over a lousy bicycle then you are going to spend the rest of your life either trembling in fear or as a yes-ma'am lap dog.
I'm all for being a modern day S.N.A.G. [Sensitive New Age Guy] but be careful that you don't become a SNAG. [thin skinned spineless bag of offal]

When it comes to low dollar, literally petty cash things like this, be a man, grow a spine & TELL her what you are going to do instead of groveling & asking permission. It's not like you're throwing away your life savings in the C-a-s-i-n-o. If she doesn't like that then get another, much more companionable woman, or else you're doomed to a life of servitude & misery. That would be doing her a favour too.
It sounds like you're well under the thumb already & NOBODY on planet earth is that good in, errr, .. private, to be worth all that.

The trick with those wiggling fingers is not to stand too close, otherwise it might get you in the eye.

Calm down Kid! Yes $20 is cheap for a bike but I get in trouble all the time for spending money on bike parts instead of putting it on my phone bill or other bills. And no, I am not under anyones thumb, my boyfriend laughs at my bike madness. It is my family who gives me the talking to as they know what I am like. I'll pick a set of old pedals over a haircut or new clothes any day. They annoy me when they nag but I know they are right, you have to get your priorities in order.

I do recall birdman saying even at $10 money is really tight at the moment.

But that's just me, I am not about to comment on what someone else does or doesnt allow their partner.

Karen.

When someone 'goes balistic' over the very thought of a $15 purchase instead of rational discussion, when one partner is told that he will be sent back home to mummy for such a dire transgression ["she is serious"] then something's wrong.

You aren't facing this situation, you don't have a fiance, nor are you co-habitating with your boyfriend & nobody is dictating to you, as a legally mature adult, what you can or can't spend from your own purse & you never have to 'ask permission', so your situation is completely different.

I was. I imposed no boundries whatsoever but they were imposed on me, right down to the last dollar. Wouldn't you agree that such a dictatorial stance is a complete lack of respect for one from another?

She lives elsewhere now & I retain my dignity & self respect, ... & I stand by every word I wrote because a relationship is supposed to be a two way street. I can't see that from the description so far.

Kid,

I am not in this situation but that does not mean I know any more or less about it. I am not about to give my lifestory nor will I compare it to someone else's as everyone's individual experiences are different. Everyone has a choice and I am not about to question someone's choice of partner over a forum when I have never met them.

I'd much rather keep to the topic of bikes than question people's relationships. So no, I wont be continuing this conversation on here.

Birdman, if you are every down this way, let me know. I get plenty of those bikes so providing I know your size, I can always put one aside for you.

Karen.

Thanks Karen, actually i will be visiting my bro in Cronulla next week. Hopefully check out the Aquarium for the little one.

And KC to clarify. Shewasn't upset about the money, she was upset about the space. I don't really mind i would rather get the ones i have going proper now and get another one later.

No-one is under anyones thumb, i am just an easy outgoing guy and would prefer to go with the flow than cause unecessary conflict. Not that i wont step in if it is wrong or makes me shirty.

But thanks again Karen i might see what i can do in the future.

Last year, my wife walked in on me perving over some retro bikes which I was considering buying. She expressed her concern over my increasing obsession with treadlies. My response was that it was healthier than spending hours on playstation, looking at porn, or spending money on cigarettes and alcohol. She agreed with me. I now have 4 personal bikes, and a floating dozen which I fix and donate to charity. Going with the flow is great, I hope it flows your way too? Cheers.
