Retro Ride Gold Coast

Postby Retro man » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:22 pm

Has anyone thought of having a retro ride for pre 90's bikes on the Gold Coast once a month or so.
There is the St Kilda one (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=24036) be good to get one going up here. Any interest?

I'm up on the sunshine coast but i'd be interested on a yearly or twice yearly basis.

I'm in :D :D .

Just tell me the when and the where. Alternating between the Gold and Sunshine Coasts would be really cool 8) :D 8) .
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

Well if we can get half a dosen or so it should be a goer.
I will have have to organise a route and a coffee shop that can accomadate us that has a safe place for our bikes. I will contact the man that organised the Victorian ride and see if he can give me some guidance.

That sounds like a good plan.
Here's another idea - any interest in doing the Tour d Tamborine ride (Nov 20) on retro bikes.
For the middle part is flat, so would be suitable for retro bikes as long as brakes are OK.
Just an idea

Retro ride sounds like an awesome idea. Wool jerseys and retro grouchiness on full display!

L'Eroica looks like one of the greatest cycling events around, anything that came close to that would be awesome.

Now all I need is a working retro bike.... and a wool jersey...
