Long time member and just rediscovering my love for cycling... My first road bike and this thing flies compared to all previous bikes I've ridden. Hoping to build up the confidence on the bikepaths before some regular rides with friends and after that some groups. Looking forward to stretching its legs tomorrow.

Just got a new Oppy A2.
Rode it home, got to a top speed of 45km/h but averaged 20.7.





First ever road bike, first ever time I have ridden one, will be getting clipless pedals at the 'first service.'
Love it so far!!!!

40kms to be done on Sunday morning......

Slammed the stem after it's first service (nip & tuck to tighten the cables etc)

Took some photos of my mighty steed today, the Aldi Crane 'Solitude' hybrid from their 2011 bike sales. I've taken if 400km so far, added the rack, mudguards, lights and computer and have taken to commuting with it to and from work twice a week. I'm also constantly tweaking and fixing it as it slowly grinds itself into dust which has been a great learning experience for me (also I'm an engineer and enjoy tinkering with things).

Gotta say, that looks like one comfy commuter. I feel every bump on my alu flat-bar roady.

Comfy it is (other than the numb right wrist I get) but at 18kg dry (including rack and mudguards) you feel every mm of altitude rise

There should be a direction arrow on the sidewall of the tyre, but generally speaking the centre of the tread/point of the arrow should hit the ground first and as the tyre rolls around it should pump the water out through the grooves. Wrong way around would have a mild effect of increasing the chances of aqua plane IMO.

Word of advise... That front light is obviously from Aldi... Don't get it wet!

Hello! This is my first post and first road bike recently purchased. It is a 2012 Scott Foil 20.

Our first ever date was at yesterday's 'Hanover ConnectEast Ride for Home' event. Took part in the 75km Individual Challenge with 2 other riders. As the bike was unridden before the event I was hoping for a problem-free ride which I got. It rode flawlessly! I cannot fairly compare it to my previous bike as it was a BMX from about 10 years ago. It was honestly a little daunting riding in clips and a struggle to complete having not ridden at all up until yesterday. I had fun and managed an average of 23 km/h.

Thanks. Will definitely build up my fitness as I miss being active. It may have been wiser to train up and gradually build up my fitness levels before the ride having not ridden a bike in 10 years, but with the new bike, cool friends and local event…I couldn't miss out!

Nice FOIL . Are there any Di2 battery mounts on the frame? From looking at their model photos it is made to look like the Di2 battery is mounted on dedicated screws under the bidon cages but I can't find any photo to suggest this is the case. Thought they may have just photo-shopped it for their website so it looks cleaner.

2011 model in raw carbon finish. Wheels are non standard as I picked up Ksyriums Equipe a while back. Should have gone the extra dollars and got the Elites
