Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideRe: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideBaz, the route is decided on the day by BenevolantDictatorD and usually between 50-63ks, although the last two weeks have been 61-63ks.
Great bunch to ride with and have coffee afterwards. ![]()
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideNO richmond ride for me today.... since the gran fondo I am currently a fair weather rider
Felt F5 Team
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideA nice ride with a bt of a differnce was had by the optomistic five who turned upfor the gentlemen's ride. Following on from the morning lightning and the predicted afternoon snow it must be the coffee that draws everyone in. Anyway, two coffees to start with over a good chat saw us ready for home - to find bright sunshine outside. So off we went on a shortened route in a reasonable breeze - up to fingerpost and back. Group riding was the theme until RealEstateMan tried a futile breakaway and left nothing for the sprint. A shortened version of the post ride drinks in keeping with the shortened ride and - as we left - it started raining again. Gotta love tassie weather!
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideI'm running late due to , I dunno, cant think of an excuse. Getting ready to go now.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideLooking good for the 28th of Dec, Richmond to Orford-Return.
Including the weekends, I'll have 18 days away from work, plenty of riding to be done. I'm just hoping the weather gods play nice. ![]()
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideGreat ride again this morning with the Richmond group, good pace this morning, Eric the Viking didnt have it his way, Jeff tried to keep control of the peloton, and our Benevolent Leader blew a tire. Average'd just under 31 for 62ks and 600m climbing.
Now to back up for tonights time trial. ![]()
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideI think that the group are going to grudgingly permit Rob to occupy the Throne again. A serious geriatric discussion is called for in order to formulate a plan to bring Rob back to the field in the final 8km. I'm not sure of what is going on in the world of cycling. The field size is booming.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideI guess Rob has been out-smarting the cunning old foxes.
Good stuff.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday Ride
Dont go away skull. Plans are being made to restore decency.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday Ride
I think you meant "Can we refer Rob to the Fox Task Force now?" Good idea. I reckon they could catch him.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideLets see what happened today
a duck may or may not have been killed a gentle amble out gentle amble back until the hammer was thrown down and we were sitting on 35. set of cranks were broken Nigel attacked on the Watertown sprint and almost won the sprint which may or may not have been contested Erik the Viking threw caution to the wind and time trialed down the last 6ks off Watertower with 4 in tow Erik was at the front until he blew up Nigel then took over until he sat up Which left me out the front with 3ks to go. I solo'd to victory with the pack chasing Our Leader blew a tire alost in half. Coffee and quiche was had. Great morning. Cant wait for next week. ![]()

Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday Ride
Orford, really, that is going to be a long yday in the saddel when do we stop for coffee???
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideAn interesting day was had by many this week. 14 or so starters was close to a record if any one bothered to keep records. It could have been more. one casualty with a front wheel broken spoke left Ray on the side of the road on the way out. One broken spoke on the back left another at the start line with a non-rotating wheel. One dead duck - that one didn't start either! One puncture on the finish line. Phew. And in between - a great day for a ride and every one got home ikay. Pity about the duck. Oh - and Rob won the sprint again.
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday Ridethat explains the limping Ray i saws this morning.
when do we stop for coffee???
Re: Richmond Bakery Wednesday RideWhat is with all these broken spokes, broke one (rear wheel) yesterday on the way to Collinsvale. limped home (AT) 12km/h
