Noosa L'Eroica; 18 Dec 2011
Postby spinner » Wed Nov 23, 2011 5:46 pm
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcTV9FBHOlM), in the foreseeable future, a cycling buddy & I have decided on the next best thing; to bring the L'Eroica here, well to Noosa, anyway.
A possible route has been mapped; 116km, including several sectors of 'strade bianche'.......
Beginning in Noosaville the we pass through several country towns with bakeries, coffee shops & even country pubs for those so inclined. Basically low traffic roads & no traffic lights.
The idea is just a fun randonneur, not a race.
Now set for 18 December 2011.
A couple of routes are under consideration & the final one will be posted up soon.
The same basic premise at the Italian version:
Steel framed cycles, preferably vintage; no carbon
All welcome

Cotterpin & I rode it this morning & I think I can safely say that it lives up to its 'heroic' tag.
Quiet roads with every surface & grade that you could imagine, great scenery, several country towns with cafes & pubs .
Oh, and it's now 120km.... there were simply some roads that we couldn't leave out
See you there!

It would be a bit of a mission on a single speed.....but do-able....
there would just be a bit of walking involved, but then again,
I reckon a few of the geared brigade could be walking it too.

I've printed it as a jpg and gave one to hooked on angling and outdoors in tewantin (bought my first bike there) and took one to Cognition but they already had one. Going to put some on supermarket notice boards in noosa cooroy and pomona over the next few days. The writing is a little fuzzy at A4 size but half A4 is good.Retro man wrote:How do you get a downloadable version of the flyer for this event. I would like to print some off and hand them out to some local bike shops.

They printed out a treat! I pass three bike shops on the way home, I will pass one each on to them.

I was thinking; it probably should be 'Noosa Eroica' without the L' ?
Anyone?

There are already a few people who think it is the Noosa L'Erotica, dropping the L' might not help that much? Or it could make no difference at all. I'm happy either way.spinner wrote:Err.. I just tend to mumble it.
