Open Cut Mining approved for the Corso

Postby ValleyForge » Mon Nov 28, 2011 1:00 pm

In case no-one noticed, the road profilers have hit the inbound side of the Yeronga Corso and converted it to an open cut mine.

Nice to discover it sign-posted right at the start as I went past it (AT) 40kph this morning.

Ride it at your peril! Here's to hopes it resurfaced soon.

they've also hit sylvan rd, slowed me down a bit on my spin out to coot-tha this morning. Hopefully they tidy it up quickly, though I'm not super optimistic.

The Corso is quite attrocious - saw about 10 flats there this morning, I'm not going back till its resurfaced as it is somewhat of a hazard for riders and tires atm.

Only the inbound side. Even worse this morning with lots more loose gravel. Exciting stuff!

Yes, the Corso is pretty ugly at the moment. I rode it last night and this morning.
If they seal it like they did in Diane St it's going to be just beeeautiful. Smooth as a ... well you know.

Dont want to sound like a whinger (especially when a nice smooth road is so close :D ) but I'm avoiding sylvan road until they are finished. Came home that way tonight, still rough as guts.

That's just what they want you to think. Notice how all the signs are gone? I think the Council crew have called it a wrap & finished it. Seriously.

I did notice the no signs yes and also did wonder about that but if that is the case they did a massive sloppy job .... Did you notice the holes at some spots?
They may have to cut corner due to Julia's pay increase

Yeah I was out there this morning filling the potholes with spare $2 coins...... Cheaper than a snake-bite flat on a tubular.

Both Sylvan and the Corso are crappy. Oh well, can't expect too much considering the weather we've had this last week.
