Good article, makes some pretty good points. Why not get the local riders on twitter rides etc. Having a "member" base is more than just selling membership packs, they need to engage them as well. AFL clubs do it well. Not everyone can afford the $990 to eat and ride with the team. No doubt I will buy the pack with the jersey (when released, there have been some pretty ordinary jerseys out there) but I agree, they need to do better.

I hope so, as well as " ..... off, we're full" as the team slogan. We can rename the team Boganedge!

GE Tour Down Under team:
Cameron Meyer , Matt Goss, Stuart O’Grady, Simon Gerrans, Jack Bobridge, Leigh Howard and Robbie McEwen
Hard to argue with that, would have to be favourites for the overall and a few stages.

I have never asked anyone for an autograph, I dont really get it. But I wouldnt mind having all those guys scribble something on a TDU jersey, so I could hang it on the wall. Legends and legends in the making, thats a team for the fans I wish I could be there! Hopefully next year. cheers

Wonder whether Gossy or Robby will be the main sprinter. Thoughts? I think it will be Gossy with Robby being the ultimate leadout wouldnt mind being led out by the guy that probably is the best in the world at finding the perfect spot/wheel.

Robbie is only riding for 6 months, his role is more an on road coach from what I have gathered. Thats not too say he wont get the odd opportunity to go out with a bang, but Gossie has to be the main man IMO.

There is a lot of potential in that team and Robbies job from my perspective, will be to setup the train of thought, to get the sprinters and leed out man to think as one. He will also have enough smarts to beat these youngins in a sprint still, under the right circumstances. Foo

How big a change is the finish on Willunga though, I get the feeling that the race will be alot different this year alot of the teams with strong men will make the first assent of Willunga Hill very hard. Might mean they can get some pretty reasonable time gaps. The year Cadel rode, he made a big jump up the standings. Imagine if the stage had finished at the top he could have won it. That team is super strong though they have a rider for every occasion and a few spare in case.
