Righto folks, quite a few of the 10K club hit and passed the target in 2011 and they're still coming over the finishing line with more to come, happy days keep em rollin in 2012 !!!, Well after a few post discussions it looks like 10K is still a good round figure, but to give the larger targets a place call 'home' I think the 10k plus club is a better name. So with that in mind, if you have a target of 10K plus for 2012 and want to have the banter, support, friendly rivalry, gauntlet throwing and of course a place to call home, join in All 10kers plus, should have their target listed on bike journal by Jan 01. This is only for 'out door rides' and no track rides, will post a list of the standings weekly. Progress bar link http://whatsbeef.net/philip/bike/adduser.php Happy Riding all

I'm in. The target for next year will be 13,500k.
This year was a bit of a runaway year as I didn't know what I was doing or capable of doing as I only managed 3000k for 7months of riding last year after I started in June.
Unless you are at the front of the pack the view's the same.

.....and there I was basking in the self satisfaction of hitting the 10,000km mark for the year, thinking I'd be able to take it easy for the last couple of months of 2011, when TimW starts playing "catch me if you can". Of course, I can't help myself Mr. Tim is great motivation for me too and maybe in 2012 we can psych each other to knock off that guy LTR Count me in!

I reckon I'll have a go again. Now that I've changed jobs (at present I work a 4 day week) & I want to ramp up for the Pan Pac Masters next year, I'll be keeping track of my training, so might as well.

I'm reluctant to jump in too quickly. My results over the past couple of years have been modest and this year I'll see 3,000km for the first time. That said, I rode 840km in November and I'm on target to ride 1,000km this month. My question is: Can I join the 10K Plus club mid year if I consistent in my riding. I'm just being careful not to be 'deadwood' for those who are hitting the mark.
Cheers, Mathew

Join in from the start mdk - be part of the fun and festivities 10k plus is the goal. Many mitigating circumstances may conspire against us and some may not make it. Let's have fun trying though!!

only joined the bikejournal a couple of weeks ago... figure 150km a week will be doable so why not stretch myself and shoot for 200km a week ...... I'm in and will set target at 10,010 .
Just an ol' man, riding an ol' bike.... every hill feels like Alpe d'Heuz....

I too would like to join you scurvy crew - the fun, the banter, the elimination of one more variable from my complicated life (the one that asks the question "Will I sleep in this morning?") all in the interests of a simple acquiesce to my OCD. Why fight it? The more I ride the happier I am and the easier it is to justify the Wiggle account
judged, insulted, gone

Count me in. Should be able to do it again, but will have a few weeks that I will not be able to ride next year.
Only 196 km to go this year. I have had around 6 weeks of excuses not to ride with trips away without the bike.

Thanks for your encouragement team. I'll jump on board with a goal of 10k . Rode another 50km this morning in the lousy wind so I figure what's so hard about 10k? I have an organised ride of 950-1000k in September so that only leaves another 9k. See, it's getting easier all the time! Cheers, Mathew

Count me in. I don't think I'll be pushing the distance as much as I have this year and I have a couple of specific goals in mind that will require some more structured training rather than just km's!
One of the goals is having the gauntlet thrown down for the Grafton to Inverell next November. Sounds like a really godd idea now, however as the time approaches my willingness may wane!
