I was talking with one of the members of this forum today and was amused to hear him comment about how he will have an accident one day from checking out people's bikes whilst driving.

I am guilty of the same offence and if I didnt have an appointment this morning I would have kidnapped the man I saw riding a nice shiny Jim Bundy bike. I drove past him and drooled at his bike.

It is not the first time and often I turn when I see a nice bike. I have to be careful or I will end up causing a crash.

So fess up, who else has a severe case of OBD? (Obsessive Bike Disease)

I know you are out there and I am not the only one.

Yep, often get some strange looks from some people when I slow down next to a clyclist to stare. Well, either a strange look, or a nice smile/wave/wink from the cyclist. And a few irritated drivers behind.

OK, I will also admit, I too fall into this category and maybe even one step further.
If I spot something real nice and I am in no hurry, I have been known to stop and have a chat to the person.
One day near Shepparton I saw an older fellow out riding, I had seen him a few times and noticed his rolls saddle and nice geo and chrome fork anyway this was good, he couldnt remember who built but said he raced it his younger days and was quite competitive on it.

I also spotted a bloke just out of Echuca on a fairly old pogliaghi as a I passed him and stopped and also had a chat to the bloke, he once raced for a bike shop in Richmond or some other inner city suburb and they were issued with pogs and he purchased his when he finnished racing for them.

Hmmmm, just sizing up the bike before you rolled him into the ditch, I suspect.

Yeah, my wife is starting to doubt my sexuality, since I'm checking out the bikes of both genders. She sees me looking and assumes I'm checking out the bod within the lycra.

I'm not suffering a pain in the neck, but my ear is getting sore from the violent twisting it gets.

Yes - me too. You are not alone.

It used to be motorcycles when I was a carefree youth (they still get a minor glance). Now really it is just bikes – new, old it doesn't really matter.

I keep my bike just outside my window as I am working just to sneak a peak.

This ailment also combines with ABIG syndrome – Another Bike In the Garage. Symptoms include not looking spouses in the eye, secret vists to certain web sites and bike shop drive bys.

Is there a cure

I pass a little guy on a beautiful emerald green 2-sizes-too-big Bauer most days and am tempted to chase him and offer a swap for something that fits him better. If any of you commute thru eagle farm area you may see him around 4:15 - 4:30 each arvo heading inbound. Just look for the upturned drops and the beautiful paintjob. More diclofenac please nurse. I park my bike within eyeshot of my workstation. I make wishlists and plan mods on scraps of paper at home and work. I haven't closed this forum for about 3 weeks.

I feel so good now confessions have appeared. I no longer feel alone.

I spent last saturday cleaning my garage and was grinning from ear to ear when I had room to be able to sit down and play with a spoke threader I was given. It was so much fun I threaded half the spoke! I then got my jollies playing with this heavy duty chain breaker I was given. Again I had fun as I am used to using an elcheapo that breaks.

I told a friend about it and they asked me if I had anything better to do with my time on a Saturday and I said NOPE.

Garages are much more fun than shopping!

Well, it gets worse it seems. I was on the phone to a friend last night and he is due to head overseas next week. He told me he must get organised and restore his clothes! He then tried correcting himself and said he had to put his clothes in the dishwasher! (He cleans tuff wheels in there)

What is this world coming to? No hope for children of the future.
