I am out - it is a bit unfair given the distance of my commute, and that I am a 5 day a week commuter. Just going to track my K's in Bike Journal. But it has been fun - Never realised how many k's I do until I actually started logging my rides.
Hope so - It has been motivating and fun. I am clinging onto the front page and hope to stay there. schurms - not unfair at all (i too am a five day a week with less kms) - you do the k's you should take the glory (or whatever it is)
Not fast, no style, but still get there.

off topic maybe..but..what is your usual commute length and what sort of time do you do it in? How long you been riding such distances?

I am pulling the pin on Endomondo at year end, but of course anyone can set up a challenge if they wish. Why not do it yourself if there is interest? Easy as. Andrew

Will join in - but have no idea how it works (have not read more than ten posts in this thread)... Moving house this week.. will mean a better commute than the measely 3kms each way I'm doing now.

OK - got it - someone will start a 'challenge'. I will log transport oriented rides as 'Cycling Transport' using the 'workout type'... and the numbers build up!

If we get enough people keen on re-running the challenge I'll set it up and we can from there.

I wouldn't say it was that bad, two thirds of my total is made up of commuting to and from work. I don't live in suburbia though, river scenery is much nicer to ride through.

I know some people who think the same but the other kms they do is the same river loop every Wednesday and the same Bay loop every Saturday... Hardly interesting for them... Social riding is the difference. Commuting usually has no social aspect to it and for many this is the reason why commuting becomes less interesting. Out of this boredom, Commuter Cup Racing is born

My take is everyone's situation is different and whether the K's are classified as "commute" or "Training" they still count towards overall fitness. 2/3 rds of my k's are commute and I reckon I am a lot fitter, and more road aware "weekend" roadie for it. Oh and my normal commute is 80ks round trip .

Miscalculation there, cause it's actually less than 10% of my yearly km.

I think in 2012, my commute Kms will represent 90% or more of my total.

Seeing as it's the New Year, I've removed the glue. This thread will descend down the list as the 2012 thraed takes over.
