If you are trying to set the 2012 target I think you need to wait till 01 Jan 2012 to do so... or are you trying to do the 2011 target...

Well I did someting by signing up and setup the signature but it says data missing, I wouldn't know where to set it up and how to ....

Briztoon, I beat you as a techno idiot... It has taken me most of the afternoon to get set up on bike journal! Anyway, I have now signed up for it and hope I can get the distance thing as part of my signature. I look forward to getting back on the bike and rotting up the km's!

For those that don't know where/how to set your goal, near the top left of Bike Journal, hover over 'RIDERS', click on 'edit my profile', scroll down to the bottom and type in your 'Distance Goal for 2011'. As mentioned, I don't think it gets updated to 2012 until the year is said and done. You can type in this years km's just to test it if you want.

I managed 6.5k kms this year, with a newborn I didn't get chance to put many long rides in.

Next year I start on the back-foot, going away for the first two weeks of the year. That leaves an even 50 weeks x 200km. ~5000km on the commute, ~5000km on the weekends.

OK I am in too. Will be setting my Goal at 10K which will be a big ask as I have only done about 5k this year since taking up riding in February.
I have joined Bike Journal but my profile is stuck at 95% complete for a couple of days and I dont seen to know how to finalise it. Any suggestions anyone??

Welcome aboard mate, not sure what might be wrong with your profile, it should tell you what is missing or wrong but without that I can't help you mate, sorry. Perhaps a screen brag might help...

I have two 100km rides planned for next week. That will get me over the line for 10,000km for this year.

Count me in for the 10K plus 2012. I'll look at my specific goal once I have actually met the 10k goal for this year!

Nothing seems to be highlighted as missing in my profile, the only thing I am missing is my profile pic as this has yet to be approved by a Mod ( I uploaded a couple of photos a few days ago now but they are still not available )

Also how do I get the green progress line at the botton of your signature.

I didn't touch the bike till mid april and still coming back up to speed... Managed 8k something which I am super happy about... I reckon I will be around 14-15k next year

Hey Mate sorry I meant a screen grab its a picture you can take of what's on your screen. I think (I'm on my phone not Mac) it's control shift and the number 4. And you can take a screen shot of your profile. If you can take this and place it here we may see what's wrong. From memory you need to ensure your user name on here matches the user name on BJ (bike journal). I think you also need to ensure you have your target (distance target) visible to everyone.

Ohhhh, All right. I will have to put up with you mob for another year
I am in once again.
Will just miss the 13k I set myself by about 1 decent ride, but I am still recovering from an operation so the rides are still a little shorter than usual.
Have riden 10 days straight with a 120 klm ride thrown in at 30 kph average which really hurt and has made me take a couple of rest days.
Well done everyone who will or has made it over the line in 2011.

Sign me up! I started cycling in January last year and did ~9000kms, so I reckon 10000 this years shouldn't be a problem! Maybe I should set it higher. Hmmm. Once I upgrade from my alu flat-bar (that's too small for me), I'll probably eat up the miles. Ok, 12000 it is!

As a techno-wiz, I can report that Bike Journal is still not allowing 2012 goals to be set, no doubt because it's not 2012 yet in the US. Give it about 8 hours if Bike Journal is East coast, or 11 if it's West Coast.

I'll be trying for 10k again this year... but I think I'll struggle depending on how much MTB I do.
