Thanks to a cold the progress on Edy is down to a painful crawl, all i achieved today was to bung in a BB, bolt on cranks, wheels, brakes and seatpost. Screw in one BB cup, sleep for an hour, grease the bearings and put the axle in, another 2 hours rest  . Probably won't be able to work tomorrow either so i might try and get the bars and cables on. Looks absolutely incredible now she has the stickers on, i'll wait til it's all done before posting the next pic though.

Good on ya TLL, you've bent the seatpost! :D . Is that an attempt to adapt a too small frame? I've only ever seen seatposts like that on BMXs.

Oh and upon fitting the front derailleur this morning i realised the BB is way too long, back to the drawing board.

That was how I bought it... Forgot to take a pic before I got rid of it ( It wasn't really worth the effort) ... I have another one which is the Sam vintage but the frame is 750 grams lighter... Might build it up one day.
Would dearly love a real one but they are a bit out of my price range.

750 grams?! That's a massive difference, was the first one made from rebar? :) .

Finally getting some decent progress happening now, BB axle replaced, polish to get rid of all the greasy fingerprints (mental note NEVER paint a bike white again!) Front derailleur cabled up, about to hook up the brakes and do the bar tape.

Popped it in to the LBS yesterday arvo for a seatpost clamp bolt (all the ones i had were too long) and to get the very wobbly front wheel trued. Unfortunately the wheel was beyond help, so i'll now swap them for a set of Shimano R500s (not period but reasonably subtle), and they didn't have any bolts to suit so i'll try and butcher an old one this arvo. Bar tape looks good, although one of the blokes at the shop pointed out i had cut the end of the tape on the wrong side, which i hadn't realised. Looks great though, can't wait to get the pics up.

Saw this on ebay, and then realised you're rationalising the collection a bit. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/lachlandavis ... 1423.l2654

Cutting down a LOT. There's another dozen odd going up over the next month or so. Sad to see some of them going but i need room and money. And i only rode this one once, 700x21s wouldn't last a single decent ride under me. With what i have learned about painting in the process of getting bikes ready for this year's Noosa Eroica i want to do a bike in the Faema colours again, it does look so very nice.
