Sorry to read that TG, I had Know idea that you have been off the bike, hope your recovery will be quick. mikesbytes wrote: I wasn't intending to go on the ride, just ride up with Eleri

Good, settled. The guys are having a ride with you, as the girls can then ride at their pace, I have slowed down a lot since my old days, but only for a short time

Thought of you lot. From here ...Why should we and other advocates be focusing on the female rider? Why is it important to get greater support for women’s racing and events? Why should the cycling industry spend more time marketing to women? Why does it matter if women ride bikes?
Women are the greatest influencers of all time. Women like to tell of their experiences, encourage and support one another. Women like to share.
Invite a woman out on a ride and the first thing she will do is ask her friend to come along. Invite two women out for a ride and you’ll have a whole pack.
Enjoy the ride.

Yeah, it was a collarbone. Too fast on a muddy track into a blind corner - the bad judgement trifecta. But not being able to throw a leg over a bike for 8 weeks, and also having to put much of my core stability rehab on hold for the same period of time has compounded the setback. I'm back on a bike now , but when I wrote that I was still recovering from the first full week of giving my lower back and core their first *proper* workout in the gym for many weeks ... which might have made it seem a bigger deal . Have been noticing improvements daily, hoping to do a commute to work next week when the traffic is quiet.

Have a good ride - sounds like a good trip and if it wasn't for not being a women and not being in town - I would be there.
So kind of get the feel that if this goes well - next up is a mixed ride.

Will the times match? Given the similar routes, it's almost worth combining the two rides.

Nope I want to hang out with the BNA women - can hang out with the club crowd any day of the week. In fact, I've been doing pretty much that all week.

Ok See you girls tomorrow. bring two bottles of water, something to eat, make sure you have a spare tube and CO2 pump.(optional) Don't forget money for coffee. See you at St Ives 7am. You may see me riding up Mona Vale Rd with Eleri and Christine Tham on your way to the car park.

i was so excited for today... i went.. got there early - lapped every carpark i could find... waited... waited... checked the forum.. oh (AT)#$% wrong carpark.. scooted over to the other one... full of men.. men all departed and then no one. i went and did the ride anyway hoping to see the green lotus flowers - but didnt ended up running into one of the guys from sea 2 summit on the way back from west head so went with him as i didnt know where the cafe was at church point. i hope you had a great ride and i will definitely be at the next one - and make sure im at the right carpark next time i worked across the road from that carpark for years and never knew it was there!

Sorry you missed it Schmenz, It was epic. I rode 114km and Eleri must have done about 138km. It was a very long way. Love my bike, feral grasshopper and Christine Tham as well as some of my other friends. We ended up with 4 riders. Shame you couldn't find us. Never mind maybe next time I will send you a link to our ride.
