Cyclists Warned by Sign on Truck

Postby Aushiker » Fri Dec 23, 2011 2:40 pm

Hi

I spotted this sign on the back of a Holcim Australia concrete mixer yesterday. Haven't seen this before.

Cyclists Warned by Sign on Truck

I've seen these before, and I think they're a great reminder to cyclists that truck drivers have limited visibility down their flanks.

is it just the camera angle or did he squeeze you into the kerb?

I saw something like that for the first time myself just the other day locally in heading along Leach Hellway (I was in a car). Wasn't on the mudflap, but rather a large sticker on the back door of a enclosed trailer. Wasn't quite able to make out the wording, but the picture was a cyclist. I had the impression it was a warning against drafting.

+1. That kind of driver needs "1m matters" sign to remind him of his legal obligations.
Looks like he demands more responsibilities of cyclists so that he
can care less.

If he is overtaking you, it's up to him to make sure his truck does not create a
danger zone.

Cheers

Camera angle I guess. I didn't consider a problem at the time. On this particular piece of road I am pretty tolerant as it is narrow and difficult to pass. Most drivers slow down and pass as carefully as they can.
