Can you help us test airless tyres off-road?

Postby Aushiker » Mon Mar 17, 2008 2:55 pm

If you regularly ride on mountain bike trails and would like to try out some new airless tyres for free, we would like to hear from you. They use microscopic air cells in a matrix of polyurethane to create a surface that is impossible to puncture. Bikewest is looking for a couple of volunteers to trial these tyres in a demanding off-road environment. bike tyre

If you can assist please send us an email advising how often you ride off-road, how far you travel, and the size of your rims.

That was quick. There when I posted this. Actually this links to their news page, so maybe a bigger issue?

Thanks. I see what the problem is now. I had an add on to the link for some reason.

If they were road tyres we could give them to Killer
If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

Airless tyres

Postby TonyS » Mon Mar 17, 2008 5:37 pm

Hi folks. I wrote the web request for volunteers to trial some airless tyres on mountain bike trails. I also wrote the fact sheet about airless tyres on our site. Bikewest purchased a couple of sets of airless tyres last July and we have been trialling them on a couple of our pool bikes. They have actually performed very well but because we don't take our bikes offroad very much, I can't really give a full performance summary until they have been tested on the dirt - hence the request for a couple of volunteers. So far we have received a few applications but I will be leaving the notice up for another couple of weeks. Tony S
