As a techno-wiz, I can report that Bike Journal is still not allowing 2012 goals to be set, no doubt because it's not 2012 yet in the US. Give it about 8 hours if Bike Journal is East coast, or 11 if it's West Coast.
Awesome work for your first year mate, welcome aboard and I'll watch my rear wheel for you

I changed jobs mid-year, this one is a government one, so generally I work 4 days a week & have very little stress anymore. And the Pan-Pac Masters games are on the Gold Coast this year & they've added cycling to the events.
Have a day off???? I have 4 of them a week (when I'm at work).
Did you see that someone has logged 5000 kms already, geez I only rode from Brissie down over the border & back, at his rate I'll have to retire & ride back & forwards to Sydney constantly.

I have a vague feeling the 5000 may be a typo

I plan to do more running in 2012 than I did in 2011 but I don't think that'll impact too much on my total cycling k's (I hope).
Good luck to everyone with their 2012 targets.
May the banter begin.......

Only 17k target Tim? You got a big holiday planned????

Just signed up and set myself up on Bike Journal with a target of 10,000kms. I'm currently off the bike after a shoulder operation and can only do home trainer sessions until Monday 23rd January so you will all get a good head start on me.
Hopefully my green bar will appear after midnight tonight as I think I have done everything correctly.
BTW - sorry for the misleading user name, I'm Andrew (married to the Gabrielle!) and am Melbourne based.

It's a shame km's on the home trainer don't count. For the last 4 days I have been doing sessions whilst still wearing the sling... but I miss riding my bike! Guess I really am a cycling tragic!

Last year I couldn't get into a good rhythm. Started the year with in an air boot till Feb then started to build up and April comes around and my lower back goes. 4 weeks off and start to get back into it and TDF starts up which makes it harder still and then in July comes the nasty boil. August comes along and I'm going .... boil I'm riding!!! That same ride coming home I crash and stuff up my shoulder requiring a cortisone shot and I've had 2 in it now ARRGH. 2 days before I'm sposed to go on tour my lower back goes on me again

Still managed to get a Perth - Esperance tour in after my lower back recovered. 10 weeks after that happens my lower back goes on me again, hmmm clubagreenie recommended me to a chiro. Went to them and they have sorted out my back issue and I'm going to be starting up Pilates this year to address that issue.
The only thing I'm worried about this year slowing me down is my shoulder reoffending again but my Bacchetta Giro 26 should work around that issue thanks to being bent and no pressure on shoulder till it's fixed. The one that I'm really concerned about is the potential Carpal Tunnel Syndrome I have, but that is not confirmed yet, I've got a bunch of Ganglion cysts on the underside of my wrists which I'm attempting to get sorted out which is putting pressure on my carpal tunnel. But doc needs to test for CTS
