just a quick tale, but i lost the top of my finger doing a disc brake adjustment, has anyone else had a close call using disc brakes or caught their finger while adjusting gears or the like!?

certainly not a nice experiance.

Yoinks! I damn near lost the tip of my finger one of the first times I spun my fixed gear drivetrain. I learnt my lesson with only a mashed fingertip & bruised fingernail which grew out soon enough... I read later the words "when it's spinning, treat the fixed gear drive train like a bandsaw" and that summed it up perfectly

but yeesh... just got my first set of discs myself with the XTC. You might be my latest warning.

quick recovery to ya!

Disc Brake Maintenance 101:

Um, yeah, look: don't put your fingers near a circular guillotine while the blade is rotating.

You know, you could probably slice a carrot with some of those rotors.
